01 · How the system works

What to check in the United States

🚩 There is no federal ministry of education recognition in the United States. What matters is institutional accreditation by an accreditor recognised by the US Department of Education or CHEA — that is the thing employers, licensing boards and other universities check. AACSB is a business-school badge, not government recognition, and a school can be excellent without it. For a foreign qualification, a NACES-member evaluator writes the assessment.

If you take a qualification abroad and bring it back here, it is assessed by a credential evaluation service accredited by NACES — WES, ECE and others. There is no single federal authority. The process there: Credential evaluation. All 104 countries are mapped here.

A listing is not a recommendation. These institutions award management qualifications in this country. We do not claim any of them currently runs an online or distance MBA, what it costs, or that it is good — we have no verified data on any of that and neither does anyone else publishing a ranking. Ask the institution directly, and ask for the total fee in writing. The five questions to put to them are here.

Name, city and what kind of institution it is. Nothing else, because nothing else is verifiable from here.

Disclosure. We run one of the programmes on this site — the IICT and IIPM online MBA, described here. It is deliberately excluded from every directory page, including this one, so you can weigh it against these institutions rather than find it seeded among them.

Your online MBA institute. We teach the curriculum free and in full, and we run our own online MBA with IICT and IIPM — an autonomous institute award, not a university degree. Everything else on this site describes programmes we do not run, and our own is kept out of those rankings. How that works
