01 · How the system works

What to check in Pakistan

The Higher Education Commission recognises institutions and equates foreign degrees — and it recognises the institution before it looks at the award. Pakistan also runs two large distance providers, which is unusual in the region.

If you take a qualification abroad and bring it back here, it is assessed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), which equates foreign degrees and requires the awarding institution to be recognised. The process there: Equivalence of degrees. All 104 countries are mapped here.

A listing is not a recommendation. These institutions award management qualifications in this country. We do not claim any of them currently runs an online or distance MBA, what it costs, or that it is good — we have no verified data on any of that and neither does anyone else publishing a ranking. Ask the institution directly, and ask for the total fee in writing. The five questions to put to them are here.
