01 · How the system works

What to check in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka’s state universities are coordinated by the University Grants Commission, and postgraduate management sits mostly in dedicated postgraduate institutes attached to a university rather than in the faculty itself. Non-state degree-awarding institutes are recognised separately by the ministry — check which route an institution sits on.

If you take a qualification abroad and bring it back here, it is assessed by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. The process there: Equivalence. All 104 countries are mapped here.

A listing is not a recommendation. These institutions award management qualifications in this country. We do not claim any of them currently runs an online or distance MBA, what it costs, or that it is good — we have no verified data on any of that and neither does anyone else publishing a ranking. Ask the institution directly, and ask for the total fee in writing. The five questions to put to them are here.
